High School Soccer Information Letter As many of you already know, winter high school soccer and club soccer have overlapped for years and this year will be even more challenging due to the scheduling of RAL and WCDA events. Attached is a letter from Diablo FC outlining the upcoming events for our players and North Coast Section rules for outside competition. Please feel free to bring this letter to your high school and be very proactive regarding Diablo FC events/games coming up. our club is sending this letter to all the local high schools, however not every school has their high school coach and athletic director listed on their school website. Please fell free to bring directly to your school coaches and AD. There is a lot of confusion regarding the NCS Rule for Outside Competition and many high school coaches and even ADs are confused on this rule. Please be aware that NCS Winter Soccer considers players an official member of a high school team once he/she competes in an official contest (scrimmage or game). Most coaches think it is okay for players to participate in scrimmages but not games and this is not true. Scrimmages count so please communicate this rule to them if they are confused. If you play in a scrimmage, you will be penalized for playing in RAL and/or WCDA games. You are free to play for Diablo FC in these important upcoming RAL and WCDA November events without penalty so long as you don’t play in a scrimmage or game with your high school. I know this is confusing so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Brian Voltattorni, Diablo FC Director of Coaching
