Diablo FC Girls Program Alumnae begin NCAA Tournament Play This Weekend

DFC 99/98G NPL (2016 Surf Cup Semi-Finalists)

With the fall youth and college soccer seasons entering their final weekends, Diablo FC would like to pass along the message of support to our Diablo FC Girls Alumnae continuing post-season play this weekend.

Haley Brown (DFC 99/98G NPL) begins NCAA Division I Tournament play with Cal State Fullerton at Pepperdine (Nationally ranked #12) for the first round on Saturday Nov 11.   Haley contributed in 16 games during the regular season, scoring her first collegiate goal Oct 2nd vs CS Northridge, aiding in CSF Women's Soccer Head Coach Demian Brown's 100th career win.

Several players begin NCAA Division II Tournament play this weekend with Chico State and Sonoma State Women's Soccer.  Sarah Emigh (DFC 99/98G NPL) wih Chico State Women's Soccer open up tournament play Fri Nov 10 in La Jolla, CA as the 4th seed in the West Regional and will play Concordia-Portland, hosted by UC San Diego. As a Freshman Center Midfielder, Sarah finished the regular season with 3 goals and 1 assist.

A few more former DFC players begin Tournament play with Sonoma State Women's Soccer (Ranked #25 Nationally) vs Cal Baptist, hosted by Western Washington as the #3 seed in the Western Region.  SSU Women's Soccer & DFC Alumnae include Kaitlyn Emigh (DFC 96G NPL), Katie Hoyt (97G NPL), and Alexis Espitia (DFC 99/98G NPL).  As a freshman, Alexis Espitia earned All CCAA 2nd Team Honors, while leading the team in Goals (8) and Total Points (19) with 8 goals and 3 assists in the fall season - 3rd in Conference for Points and tied for 2nd for Goals. 

We wish them all the best, as they begin post-season play this weekend.  A list of our current Diablo FC Girls 2018 Verbal Commitments can be found on our Girls NPL Academy Page.  As we look to develop and prepare our current players to continue on at the collegiate level - our DFC 02G NPL, 01G NPL, and 00/99G NPL Teams all conclude their fall season at Surf College Cup Showcase (San Diego, CA) November 24-26, 2017.
